About Clear Path Home Loan

A capped, vetted referral platform connecting Australians to independently licensed mortgage, financial, legal, accounting and real-estate specialists.

A different model, on purpose

Most lead-generation platforms make their money by signing up every broker who will pay, then spreading each enquiry across as many of them as possible. The result, from a consumer's seat: clients get called five times in an afternoon by brokers who never spoke to them before, all competing on response speed instead of fit.

Clear Path is built on the opposite model. The network is capped — only a small number of specialists per profession per region. Vetting goes deeper than a tick-box licence check. The point is not the fee structure. The point is that fewer, better-checked specialists serve clients better than a long queue of strangers racing to dial first.

“I left the broking industry because the lead-gen model wasn't serving anyone — not the brokers, not the clients. Clear Path is what I'd want if I were buying a property today.”

— Mark L., Founder

What governs the platform

01
Free for the consumer.
Always.
02
Capped per region.
Only a small number of specialists in each profession per geographic region. They get fewer leads. Clients get someone with bandwidth.
03
Vetted in depth.
Not a tick-box check. The full process is below.

No exclusivity contracts, no upsells, no sale of client data.

Why we keep the panel small

Most referral platforms grow revenue by widening the panel — more brokers, more agents, more specialists, all paying to access the same enquiries. Clear Path holds the panel small on purpose.

Why?

Specialists with fewer competing leads can afford to spend more time per client.
They are not racing six others to dial first.
Clients get someone with bandwidth.
Not a five-minute triage call, but a proper conversation.
The specialist's incentive lines up with the client's.
Over-promise and under-deliver, and they do not stay on the panel.

A slower-growth model for the platform. A better one for the people involved.

Vetting, in detail

Every specialist is independently checked before they are listed. The process applies regardless of profession.

Licence verification through the issuing regulator.
ASIC Connect for any holder of a credit licence, credit representative authorisation, or Australian Financial Services Licence. State Law Society for conveyancers and solicitors. State real estate licensing authority for buyers and selling agents. CPA Australia or CA ANZ for accountants.
Licence validity dates confirmed.
Active, in-date, not expired and not pending renewal.
Aggregator verification (for brokers).
Confirmation of the broker's aggregator and credit representative authorisation under that aggregator's licence.
Industry body membership in good standing.
FBAA or MFAA for mortgage and finance brokers. REBAA for buyers agents. The relevant state Law Society for conveyancers. CPA Australia or CA ANZ for accountants.
Professional certificates verified.
Qualifications confirmed against the issuing institution where applicable.
Professional entity check.
Whether the specialist trades as a sole trader, company, or under another structure — and the implications for accountability.
ABN verification.
Confirmed live and in-name via the ATO ABN Lookup.
Company research.
ASIC company search for any operating entity — directorships, trading history, related entities.
Cross-verification through industry contacts where possible.
Informal reference checks with peers, aggregators, or industry body contacts.

Re-verification is rolling.

Credentials are re-checked periodically, and whenever a complaint or licence change is flagged. If a specialist fails any check, they come off the panel.

Independently verified.

Each of the checks above is independently verifiable. We rely on the following regulators and industry bodies:

Who built Clear Path

Mark L.
Founder · Clear Path Home Loan

Mark L. brings over a decade of executive experience working alongside leading industry experts and in senior advisory roles. He spent time running his own mortgage broking business as a licensed broker and FBAA member, before being offered an executive role he couldn't turn down. Throughout his time in broking, Mark kept coming back to the same thought: there was a gap between consumers and the right professional advice — and no one was bridging it properly. Clear Path is his answer to that gap.

Mark is not a licensed broker today, and Clear Path does not provide credit assistance, financial advice, legal advice, or tax advice. Clear Path is a referral platform — connecting consumers to independently licensed professionals who do.

The fee model, plainly

Clients pay nothing.
Not now, not later, not at settlement.
Specialists pay Clear Path a referral fee
for clients matched through the platform.
The fee does not affect the rate, fees, advice, or service the client receives.
Specialists charge their normal rates. Clear Path is invisible to the transaction once the match is made.
Client data goes only to the matched specialist.
No mailing lists, no third-party marketing partners, no data brokers.
